After I finish analytical trigonometry in AP Precalculus course, I ask my students to read a paper that uses analytical trigonometry for FTC robotics games. My students can immediately see the connection of the knowledge they have just learned with the real application. Below is the paper, which will soon appear in Mathematics Magazine (an official, peer-reviewed publication of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) designed for educators, undergraduates, and math enthusiasts).
