Professor Xu stand out in teaching filed not only due to his outstanding degrees and math background, he has great teaching style and profound understanding on how to convey hard topics in ways that seems easy to understand and apply. His methodology of teaching connects the dots, makes student enjoy learning and becomes confident in solving problems. His teaching rhythm is best suited for students learning growth, with a great balance of big picture and details, his prompt distributions of lectures, summaries, solutions, providing recitation after lecture all help to reinforce the knowledge taught before moving on to new topics. Professor Xu is great for any students and we will definitely recommend him for any students.

With a university professor’s profound math background, Professor Xu has a much wider vision of how the math knowledge are related and involved in middle school, high school, and college level math courses. Professor Xu teaches the algebra 2 concepts with bigger picture in mind, thus after taking his class, students not only master the new knowledge, but also make their previous knowledge more solid. Professor Xu has magically made his class easy to understand for middle school students by using well-crafted illustration, graphs, and detailed steps. Beyond that, he embeds some above level math problems for kids who welcome more challenge. Professor Xu emphasizes to his students the importance of preview, taking notes and review, and his homework recitation is a valuable bonus. They are great helpful for clearing any confusion and deepening the understanding. My son really likes Professor Xu’s class and benefits a lot from it. Dr. Xu is the best math teacher my kids ever had. My twins are currently in Dr. Xu’s algebra II class. Dr. Xu not only shows the kids how to solve the problems, he explains all the concepts in a way that his students can understand. You will know what I am talking about if you read his example notes. We will definitely attend Dr. Xu’s calculus classes in the following semesters.

Professor Xu has been engaging and interactive throughout the two courses I have taken with him. He voluntarily offers help and explains important concepts clearly and concisely, with well-drawn graphs. He’ll regularly stay up in the morning to check every student’s work, and will even use his own time to explain concepts in more detail. He actually cares about what you learn, and puts polls and practice questions sporadically through his lectures in order to provide some in-class practice. He always makes a point of reviewing what each class has learned so that they can remember it, and overall he’s one of the best teachers I’ve ever had.

My son has been to different math classes in various math centers, but he likes teacher Xu’s math class the most. Teacher Xu is a great math teacher. He is not only teaching math knowledge/skills, also teaching students to have a good habit and way to solve math problems. My son improved a lot since he took teacher Xu’s class.

My daughter is taking grade 9 math at school. She is doing well at school, but we always feel that school didn’t teach enough math to the students. So we registered my daughter for two math courses with Dr. Xu and we are so glad to see my daughter’s great improvement. Dr. Xu explained not only the concepts and principles, but also the strategies and skills to solve different types of problems in each chapter. He even correct student’s homeworks and exams and explained to students how to correct their mistakes. Thanks Dr. Xu, we feel much confident about my daughter’s math and we will continue taking precalculus and calculus courses with Dr. Xu. I would recommend Dr. Xu’s math class to every of my friend if they have a high school kid.

Mr. Xu is a very excellent teacher. During classes he would go in depth about every topic, giving everyone a good understanding of the topic. In addition, he would make sure everyone understands the concept before going on. He takes lots of time out of his day to not only check but also correct everyone’s homework. Algebra is an already hard subject but Professor Xu makes this subject as easy as he can. He gives great lectures and is very thorough. Everything was accessible from the start of class and there were many tools for you to utilize. He also gave bonus points for advanced students during exam or homework. I highly recommend to anyone who wants learn more beyond school classes!

Dr. Xu is the professor who reminds me my dad who is also a math professor in China. He always tries his best to explain the math clearly and my kids are so lucky to be able to join his classes. My son participated Dr. Xu’s Algebra 2 class last summer. Initially I was not sure how well online course works, surprisingly I found it turned out very rewarding. Dr. Xu is the most diligent teacher I ever met. A few things he did exceptionally well. First, He prepared his own course notes and wrote neatly in colors neatly. Kids really like the personal feeling. Second he set up Q&A session to make sure students’ questions cleared before moving to next class. Third, last summer he spent time to correct each students’ assignments. My son participated CBE Algebra 2 afterwards and passed with almost perfect score. Even as a parent watching class from side occasionally, I enjoyed the class and wish I had a math teacher like Dr. Xu 🙂 Thank you! Dr. Xu.

Dr. Xu’s classes are some of the most excellent classes. His classes are interesting and I can grasp new concepts quickly in his class because of his detailed explanations.
